This picture was submitted by Eric Vering in 2012.  His girls were very special to him.  You may recognize this picture from our Responsible Flock Management brochure.

Eric passed away November of 2014 from a brain tumor.  Travis & I adopted the girls and have enjoyed having them in our flock.  #3 is the only one left from the 5.  When we adopted them, Eric couldn't remember their names.  So, we affectionately called them 1 piece, 2 piece, 3 piece, .... later, Eric sent us a note with the names but we still called them by their piece count.  3 piece's given name is Fern.

Dominique's are sweet chickens but sometimes demand your attention.  They have not proven to be good layers though and the shells are thinner than the rest of the flock.

Rest in Peace, Eric.  Your girls have enjoyed being on the river but they missed you and your citrus trees!
